Muskoka is a regional municipality located in Central Ontario. Muskoka, often referred to as “cottage country” has some 1600 lakes, making it a popular cottaging destination with over 2.1 million visitors annually. Muskoka has around 60 000 permanent residents, but an estimated 85 000 people spend their summers in the region every year.
The District of Muskoka desired to implement a true enterprise management system involving each department in the district as well as the member municipalities. The involvement of such a large number of groups required a phased approach to aid in a smooth adoption and transition.
Several project phases were implemented concurrently, making central project coordination key. Each group had its own business process review which allowed AGL to determine the group’s needs and configure the system to meet their requirements.
The District involved all the groups under Public Works as well as the social housing group. Work Management was a key goal in each implementation as well as asset condition.
